Saturday movement classes

These classes are from 10am – 10.45am every Saturday morning and are based on the gentle movements of Qi Gong, which can help to build strength within the body, that can help with health and vitality.

I’m not going to write anymore, as a reflection from a participant who has been attending these Saturday sessions since January 2023, who is living with long-Covid and here she tells of her experience and sums up the benefits she has experienced:

As a person with long Covid, I’ve really missed being able to exercise in the ways that I used to. Even travelling to a low impact class would use up all my energy. Pete’s zoom session of qi gong have been a life-line back to movement for me. The gentle, meditative sessions support me to gently move, and we are always encouraged to listen to our bodies and go at our own pace. While I am very limited in my ability to exercise at the moment, Pete’s qi gong sessions have helped me to regain some muscle tone, making daily activities possible or less painful. I’ve seen these benefits without bringing on long-Covid payback which has followed other more aerobic activities – and yet I really feel like I’ve had a workout – this has really helped me feel mentally brighter, as well as improving my everyday movement and pain. The live classes have motivated me, and the movements are explained clearly so that I am confident to practice by myself in between classes. These gentle but powerful classes were and are exactly what I needed at a difficult time of pain and low mood, and I cannot recommend them highly enough.RH – Feb 2023
